FAQs
Who’s invited?
Those who belonged to the Classes of 1975-80 at WHS. Spouses, partners, and guests are welcome.
Why don’t you open the reunions to other classes?
What makes the WHS 75–80 Reunions work is the shared sense of familiarity. While the year grouping was somewhat arbitrary when we first started, it’s proven to be a good one. Over the seven reunions we’ve held, those familiar faces from the halls have shown up again and again, and along the way, many new friendships have formed among people who didn’t really know each other while at Wagner but are now good friends. We’ve had attendees from other classes, but always as guests of a WHS 75–80 member – most often siblings.
When and where is the reunion?
October 29 – November 1, 2026
San Antonio, Texas (River Walk area)
What is the RSVP for?
The RSVP helps us estimate attendance so we can plan venues, events, and pricing. We factor in both “yes” and “maybe” responses, knowing that plans can change – so please update your response as soon as you know for sure.
Do I need to pay when I RSVP?
No. There is no payment required to RSVP.
When will you require payment?
We’ll need payment once we’ve signed contracts – probably sometime in February. We’ll email everyone who’s RSVP’d with the details then.
What events are planned?
We’re planning a welcome gathering, evening events on Friday and Saturday, and a farewell breakfast. A tentative itinerary is posted on the site and will be updated as details are finalized. Days are open for you to explore on your own – the hotel is on or steps away from the River Walk, with the Alamo and downtown San Antonio attractions all within easy reach. Some attendees also organize informal activities like golf outings — call a known golfer and tag along.
Is the schedule final?
Only the dates are final. The itinerary is preliminary and may change as venues are confirmed.
Do I need to attend all events?
No. You’re welcome to attend as many – or as few – as you like. That said, at prior reunions, nearly everyone attended all the events.
Where should I stay?
We’ll share the room block information once it’s finalized. Room blocks will be set based on RSVPs. While there are many hotels on and near the River Walk, staying at the same hotel has always been part of the experience. During the reunion, those spontaneous shrieks of delight in public spaces – elevators, bars, the lobby – signal to everyone nearby that someone has just run into a familiar face. It’s a lot of fun.
I’m not sure yet if I can attend. Should I still RSVP?
Yes. Selecting “Maybe” helps us plan without committing you to attending.
Can I bring a guest?
Yes. Guests are welcome. You can indicate this on the RSVP form.
Where can I see photos from past reunions?
Past reunion photos are available in the Photos section of this site.
How will I know when registration opens?
Updates will be posted on this website, and we’ll notify everyone who’s RSVP’d by email so they get first notice and the first opportunity to lock in their spot. We’re being conservative with our numbers – at our age, life can change fast – and given that the last reunion was 10 years ago, we expect spots to fill quickly.
Why now? Why not wait another year?
This reunion came together very quickly in response to requests from several people who have truly loved our past gatherings. As we’ve all seen, health issues are becoming more common within our group, and we’ve already lost some classmates. Waiting another year isn’t something everyone can count on.
By October, our youngest members will be 64, and our oldest will be nearing 70. We agreed to do this while most of us can still travel, participate fully, and enjoy being together. This will likely be our last large gathering, and the goal is simple: see each other and make the most of the time we have.
