Like Myrna, I’ve had the Bee Gees song “Stayin’ Alive” stuck in my head quite a bit lately. Ever since the reunion was officially announced, I felt a lot of apprehension about whether or not I should attend.
My husband of 43 years, Charlie, helped me tremendously in sorting through my feelings. When I mentioned the updated attendee list to him, he pointed out that if there is ever another reunion, many of us might not be able to make it. That realization was a major factor in my decision to go, even though some anxiety remains after booking my flight and making arrangements.
Most of my hesitation stems from the health issues I’ve been managing. While I know others are facing much worse, it can still be scary to navigate. However, the memory of the lasting smile and warm feeling I get after seeing long-time friends is ultimately why I decided to attend.
I will certainly miss the Falcons who have passed away, as well as those who cannot or choose not to attend. The Sister Sledge song “We Are Family” keeps coming to mind, because this group truly is a family coming together to celebrate.
I can’t wait to share a dance with Kool & The Gang, Celebration is going down.
Love and hugs from Duckie, “The Most Spirited Class of 1976”

So glad you decided to come and can’t wait to see you, Duckie! No reunion would be the same without you. Looking forward to hitting the dance floor with you and shaking our groove thing!
